Hello all, I'm an early thirties MAAB. Since I was little I always felt different than most everyone around me, but it came and went throughout the years. I served in the military where my occasional "lack of manliness" as it were was ridiculed at times. I've always had a mix of traditional manly and girly things that I enjoyed, plus an eclectic sense of style that fits no category.
One day not long ago I just posted that I was genderfluid to everyone I know and only 1 person replied and said "OK." Kinda weird, I figured someone would have said something but I guess I have good friends and family.
I'm here trying to connect with other non-binaries, preferably near the Chicago area. I'm always open to questions.

Welcome! Is there a name or a nickname you'd like to be called by? Or just cf97fan? You aren't alone with your story, I know there are a few here who have gone through similar circumstances. "OK" is a good sign, it's recognition. It's better than say, nothing or hateful comments. Not sure if anyone lives near the Chicago area specifically as members here are from all over the globe. If members do, please keep in mind that if they decline meeting up, it's nothing personal. They have private lives and families to think of, to keep safe. I live in Australia, hiya! Feel free to comment or make any threads to kick-start discussions. Since many of us are from different timezones, it takes a few hours to a day for the replies to flood in If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask Kind regards, Jacey

Jay
Welcome. I lived in Chicago for a couple of years and while there I was diagnosed as trans. Talk about world changing. This plus some HRT and some FFS brought a lot of change to my life. It wasn't until some time later that I determined that I was non binary striving for andro. Anyways welcome, any question is a good question and we are always here to listen and to support you on your journey.
Loved Chicago particularly the Jazz, the sports, music and people - pretty laid back with a large LGBT community. Nowadays living in Oz.
Safe travels
Aisla

Welcome, welcome!
It's cool that you at least didn't get any negative responses. When I came out and stated my pronouns on Facebook, I had one guy leave a comment that just said "no" followed by one that said I was "biologically a girl". Pretty icky. Went to unfriend him and discovered he'd already unfriended me. Anyways, as you get more reactions I hope they are positive or at least neutral.

welcome, jay!
one of my students is from chicago. that's the closest i get. i'm not particularly out, but some of the younger students (6th grade) in the school where i work, have started to make "mistakes" in the way they talk to me. those ones have also learned a whole lot about intersex, transgenderism, and different orientations. i teach them science, for some odd reasons, and we've been lucky enough that puberty andpeocreation have been themes. they have such vast linguistic knowledge already, that i just have to let them ask away so i can correct any misconceptions.
