First what is transition? Is it altering your body? Or altering your entire life?
Are you driven to transition, were you driven, did you plan it? Or hit the wall and throw the towel in and get ready for the wild ride down your rabbit hole, or grab a bite, choose a forest path, take a deep breath, and walk into it?
I wonder how much of our journeys are chosen by us, how much is chosen for us by our bodies and their need to be fixed, and how much we go down the river of life like a leaf, maybe guiding the kayak to safe passage, maybe choosing the more exciting path, wondering where those falls were?
There is nothing planned about my transition. It is totally adapt and survive. It is a journey of self discovery, yes, but in spite of all my promises, by now, the only one I have kept is that I have not slept with anyone outside of marriage. Nor will I ever put myself in that position, like any woman, my body should not be underestimated in what it can yeild to.
So I see crafted presentations, crafted paths, 5 year plans, and I go, huh? Really? You are gunna choose your destiny?
Dont get me wrong, we take actions, we reap the effects of them. We make choices, they create a life. We have divine appointments with people predestined to help us, or us help them, and lifepaths are changed for the better.
But what drives us down the path? Sex, self expression, dysphoria, need for love? Powerful forces that drive us on.
What drives you down the path of transition, the one next to the big cliff, sometimes near the edge? Do you choose your transition destiny, and the social interactions you will have, whether stealth, out, boy, girl, andro, queer.... or is something else driving that in you?
