First off, the image below is my testosterone levels before HRT: This image is my levels after nearly six months of HRT: I saw my endocrinologist today. Everything was good except for two things: 1) I am deficient in Vitamin D, so I have to start taking a supplement; and 2) my Prolactin level was a bit high which can cause headaches and vision problems if there is a prolactinoma. I’m a bit concerned that there might be. I haven’t had any headaches, but my vision is a bit weird lately. We are monitoring it for the next five weeks. If it gets worse then I may have to stop taking Estradiol. I really hope it doesn’t come to that. This stuff has been a life-saver to me. I didn't see anything about Estrogen levels, and it's not on my lab report. I should have asked about it.

Drop foods linked to prolactin?
You on stomach acid blocks? They do that.
What drops those levels?
Looks like research for you.
You taking oral or sublingual? Sublingual bypasses liver on first pass. It does spike and crash levels though, ingested is smooth, but hits the liver. There's also the patch folk love her here.
Dairy?
Check into it, you are a smart one, check what you can control.
Blessings

Blessings Trinity I used to take Nexium, but I stopped that months ago. I've taken control of my GERD with apple cider vinegar. I take oral estradiol. I was going to ask her about switching to patches or injections, but she side-tracked me with the prolactin stuff. I asked her when I first went there, but she said it didn't matter and that the others were just more expensive. I do eat dairy, mainly ice cream and the occasional iced latte. I'm not getting any headaches, and I don't need to squint or anything to read. I'm going back in on June 22nd, so I guess I'll find out what's next. I just hope she doesn't want to take me off of my precious estrogen!

What mg dose are you on for estradiol? Do you dissolve it under your tongue or swallow the pill? Are you also on Spiro and finesteride? Low dose still transitions you, not too sure how high they started you since you are young. The docs don't understand how important e is sometimes unless they work with a lot of trans folk. Take responsibility for your body, do the research, come up with a plan. What is your plan Erin? Are you on a fact gathering mission concerning prolactin? We are transsexuals, we need to be experts about our bodies and what is happening to them. :-)

We are transsexuals, we need to be experts about our bodies and what is happening to them. :-) Right now, we're just going to see what happens in the next five weeks. I'll go for more blood work and then when I see her she'll tell me what's next. I take a pretty high dose of 4mg twice a day. I asked her if I should just take less, and she said we weren't going to change anything until June. I think taking 3mg twice a day would be better, or just switch me to patches or injections. She tried to talk me out of patches initially, but I'm not active enough for them to fall off all the time. I'm not afraid of needles, so I'd be fine with injections, too.
I take Spiro, but I do have a prescription for finasteride. I wanted to take it to help block DHT so more hair can grow in. I'm already seeing some growth where it's receded, but the Fin might help that even more. It's just $22, and my E and Spiro together are $35. I will probably get it next month unless my grandmother can spare the $22 this month.
Oh, I've done some research into Prolactin and prolactinomas. I'm a research guru. Google is The Matrix and I am The One.

Max dose.
Finesteride helps boobs.
See if there's data on sublingual effect on prolactin, if any...
Injections are a roller coaster and I drop 80 a month wholesale on it.
Good luck Erin. Let us know how you do.

I recently had my bloodwork done too. Wish mine looked like that. The little boys don't know when to quit; won't give up...See my doc next week, see what he says.
