Help - help, there's sharks in these waters! Gee, my voice went up a few octaves, guess I won't have to waste any money on voice training!

seaweed is apparently jist as good camouflage on land as in the sea. naked girls playing in the fresh water source... not noticing the bundle of brown and green at all.
though that weather *sigh* fires don't make rain any warmer, so the seemingly invisible person retreats to the ocean to wait for it to pass.
the people look intimidatingly gendered as well. the shadow was much easier to accept being around. though naked girls is a very enticing sight even to a merperson.

She spots some seaweed by the beach and turns to her new friend in the tub...
"Look, lunch!"
And climbs out of the water to grab her clothes....topless of course but only for a sec...

Effortlessly, the shadow moves to a better vantage point.

The nymph is preoccupied with the water casading around their shoulders, they glance back at their friend who was momentarily topless, they tilted their head in puzzlement, Food? They thought, finding they have no requirement for such things. They smiled and waved dismissively at their friend, instead urging them to go have fun.
Poor seaweed...

Just as the Shadow suspected, the forest here is full of amazing creatures. They wait to see who else will show up.

Checking my snares I find a large Guinea pig-like rodent, glad I carry a pocket knife. Finally I'll get some meat tonight these berries are too little to sustain anyone for long.

The new arrivals seem to be congregating, waiting for cooked rodent. Farther into the forest there is plenty of fruits and wild vegetables growing. Haven't smelled rodent cooking in some time. The coconut girl just can't stay out of trouble it would seem.

I found an old WWII helmet, threw the liner away. The helmet makes a swell cooking pot, so I rounded up some rock oysters I had seen earlier when the tide was out. I should invite guests to enjoy the skewered rodent meat and rock oysters with me, but then again I dunno. I get the feeling that coconut girl would want to move in with me, she's definitely hot, but too flighty. Yeah, I'm too smart and know how that would pan out.

The new arrivals are settling in it seems, but they have strange ways. Or perhaps I've been on this island to long and my ways are strange. Adapting to the island took some time, but survival has turned into mundane stable sameness. Time to empty the drying racks and restock them with more fruits and vegetables. A handy snack to take on journey's, or those storm filled days best suited for staying in my hut. The numerous nuts that grow wild provide a substantial amount of protein. I have never been more healthy than I have been the last few years living here.
I wonder where the one taking notes has wandered off to. If they go to far, they might run into the ones stranded here from before me. They are all on the far side of this prison paradise, but have strange ways that makes me leery of them. They've been here for so long it seems like they have no ambition to escape from here. But then, we are much too far from the shipping lanes as far as I can tell.
I have traveled for days in my small boat without seeing a single thing. I can't figure out where all of these new ones have come from, a ship that lost it's way? Perhaps a cruise ship... they seem to always have their share of problems. They do have that touristy look to them, still shiny from a luxury cruise maybe.
Rodent in a pot cooking,.. they need to add some of what the island offers to make it a stew worthy of cooking. The now semi-wild goats are safe for the time being I hope. The wild rodents are plentiful, but the goat population is not very large, never has been. Don't even know where they came from, but they don't seem to be indigenous to this wild place.
Sitting on the cliff edge and snacking on fresh fruit, I wonder if more human 'flotsam & jetsam' will float on in... It is still a curios group to watch below. They will find there is more than one hot spring here and that the island has a low ancient volcano.

There's the Shadow. "Hey shadow maybe we can dig a pitfall together and catch one of those wild goats?" "Later once we retrieve the goat we could put a layer of rocks in the bottom, built a hot fire until we have some red hot embers, add more wood and a few more rocks, palm leaves, the newly killed and gutted goat, more leaves and some rocks and dirt. By the end of the day we would have a feast we could share with the island's new inhabitants, along with some of your dried fruits and nuts." I dunno though, maybe that goofy coconut lady will fall in the pit.

If you kill off the small number of goats, they cease to exist. They aren't so wild that you can't catch a mama to milk, to make cheese. Better to find the predator that keeps the population down. Have to be careful not to endanger the island inhabitants. They keep falling into pits and they'll soon be gone as well. A tiger/panther pit just might be the thing. With well placed 'danger, tiger pit' signs around it. I don't much care for goat meat anyways... Build a rabbit snare, I think I saw some.
