It forces you to pick Male & Female options but I cannot change this as it is Proboards sign-up system - this will be the same no matter which Proboards forum you go to.
Believe me, if I could change it, I would!
Rest assured, upon approval of your membership, you will be able to change your gender with the options available!
How do I hide the gender symbol?
Please click Profile > Edit Profile > Click the Privacy tab and check the "No" under Gender Visibility option to hide the gender symbol.
Do I have gender options to pick from?
Once membership is approved, you can! There are plenty of options or you can create your own!
Click Profile, Edit Profile, Click the Personal tab and the Drop-down menu is at the bottom of the page.
Here are the current available options:
Male Female FTM MTF Genderqueer Androgyne Non-Binary FTM Non-Binary MTF Non-Binary Gender Neutral Agender Demiguy Demigirl Other
I have also added a Gender section with a blank text field that will allow you to write your own gender identity if none of the options are suitable
How to I modify my pronouns?
Please click Profile > Edit Profile > Click the Personal tab and at the bottom is a Drop-down menu to select from a variety of pronouns.
If none are suitable, there is a Pronoun empty text field under the Drop-down menu that you can use to express the pronouns you wish others to use when referring to you.
I hope this helps new members and help relieve any dysphoria or discomfort experienced upon registration!
Kind regards, Jacey

I have had to criss cross the country several times because I lost a driver due to a drug test. I am old fashioned though. I would rather spend a lot on a fast gaming desktop than have twenty laptops. Plus not too much time when you run your ass into the ground and need at least eight hours of sleep and then an hour to relax after 11 hours at full speed and an hour after you wake up to get clean (full shower) after the day before running your ass off. the commercial is right, stress sweat is the worst kind of sweat.

Yeah I remember that movie. Love it still to this day. I remember when Coors was illegal in the east and I think it was illegal east of the Mississippi River. Or maybe east of Texas on up. 31/2 percent compared to 5 percent alcohol content. Wow the government is really ignorant. Low alcohol beer is OK but they still sold whiskey. I remember that movie was in the 70's from Atlanta GA to Texarkana TX and back to Atlanta GA in 28 hours if I'm not mistaken. That was when a 350 HP engine was pretty stout. Hell I can go from Medford OR to Atlanta GA in a little less than 48 hours. Even did it one time. But my truck had 500 HP engine with a 13 speed tranny with a 20,000 pound load on a 48' trailer. So beer is heavy and fully loaded fully loaded on a 42' trailer which was the norm in those days, maybe even a 40' trailer. The load was probably 65,000 to 75,000 pounds. And if you see it loaded before Jerry Reed shuts the doors, it is from top to bottom. So he would have to slow down for the curves unless he wanted "the greasy side up" on the back roads. BTW trucker lingo is a rollover when we say "greasy side up". Oh BTW back then there is no way I would go from Atlanta to Texarkana and back to Atlanta non stop riding on freaking springs. Now we have air ride tractors and trailers. Thank Gawd. I have driven a spring ride truck and trailer and after 300 miles my ass was whipped. Yeah a wussy new age trucker. Don't hate though. We can go 700 miles a day now instead of 400-500 miles in the 70's. So now it's not the miles that really wear a driver down but the stress of dealing with the other traffic. We have 11 hours to drive now but you get caught between DC and Baltimore during rushour and it may cost you 3 hours and no one really understands that a driver has to make those lost hours up. The smart ones say screw it and call dispatch and tell them if they don't like it to find another driver. Some are too scared to do that and will go an extra 3 hours which makes the trip 14 hours and only a 7 hour break which takes about an hour or more to fall asleep after the adrenaline wears off and waking up an hour in order to wake up. So a 10 hour break can sometimes only end up being less than 4 hours of sleep before another 11 hours of driving. Really safe, huh? This is really what pisses me off. If I feel good, awake and alert I should be able to drive 18-17 hours but if I'm tired and only want to drive 3 hours, it should be up to me. But no the government, big corporations from trucking companies to shippers and receiver that work 8 to 10 hours a day with a lunch hour in between set this shit up and let the driver deal with the consequences of their stupidity and ignorance. I blame the government on down to the trucking companies to the shippers and receivers. Most drivers just want to drive to the best of their abilities and when exhausted don't want to hear shit like, "So and So made the trip and you can't". Well so and so may be taking "High Speed Chicken Feed" and just lucky enough not to get caught. Or maybe fresh because they just had a week off. The driver should make the call of when to pick up and when to deliver according to their condition and screw what the companies want, the shipper wants and what the receiver wants. A driver kills someone they go to jail even if the company, shipper or receiver was pushing them past their max point of exhaustion. Trucking should be in the hand of the truck drivers. If I leave in a month I can bust my ass and drive 14-15 hours a day. After a month of running I may be only able to drive 6-8 hours a day without getting exhausted. Just think of that next time you pass a big truck. Fresh driver or stale driver? A driver that don't take shit from anyone or one that will do anything to please their dispatchers or customers. To me, human lives are more important than that load of swing sets going to a big box store in the middle of January in the north eastern US with snow on the ground. My life is more important and the ones that drive on the road with me are more important than a bunch of BS toys for summertime. Or anytime really. If it is that important, order early and give enough time to get the inventory in instead of waiting. Mine and other's lives are not worth the greediness of not expanding your warehouses. Sorry for the long post but maybe the government should appoint someone that knows something about logistics in real life situations instead of some lawyer that has no idea but kisses ass really good. The truck drivers are not the problem in the US, the government is and their ideas and ideals of sucking up to corporations for donations to keep power. So what about the Circadium rhythm. It seems like this was left out of the equation. What about a 12 and 12 schedule and the Driver's call? But we ended up with an 11 hour drive and 10 hour break not to mention a 14 hour clock. There is no 12 in there. 11+10=21. That is 3 hours less than a 24 hour day. 14+10 does equal 24 but most drivers aren't working and driving 14 hours a day. Most drivers pick up and deliver loads. What about a 12 hour and 12 hour? I love driving from 10PM to 10AM. So that should be my 12 and 12 with no deviations. Captains on boats and ships have the final say so. Cargo and passenger captains on cargo jets and passenger jets have the final say so. Shouldn't it be the same with big trucks?

I wouldn't be able to drink a beer without knowing the calories behind it. Hell no Big Gulps in NYC because of the sugar. Hell with the government especially with the Common Core BS when it comes to math, maybe that's what's wrong with the numbers, I can't even make sense of it. Now regardless I ain't no mathematical genius but really they need a whole freakin' equation that Michio Kaku or even Albert Einstein could figure out that 2+2=4? Hell. E=mc2 is easier to understand than how they get 2 and 2 equals 4 with Common Core math.

Wow, way off topic. Someone slap me please. Since Shan is back I expect it. Back at you sassy girl! Back when I was working storms in the mid-west, I don't remember how many big rigs I drafted in my little Ford Ranger. Saved me a lot of gas money no doubt. One trucker at a rest stop said it was OK with him as he and others aren't into quick stops, so I'm probably pretty safe. I'd get within a few feet and I could feel his draft pulling me right along. It was good unless there was a smokey taking pictures by the roadside.

It was good unless there was a smokey taking pictures by the roadside. Oh I don't mind people getting behind me but please at least have a CB and let me know what you are doing. If someone is drafting behind me and I have no idea, I get a little nervous. Especially pulling high dollar stuff. The only time I stop quick is in the instance of an accident and that would be an instantaneous thing because I drive at least half a mile down the road. Hell I hit a big bull elk one time and just let off the accelerator. What is the use of locking it up and possibly jackknifing? I kept control of the truck even though a lot of damage was done. Enough that the computer killed the engine. That is why we have insurance. 15,000 dollars of damage to the truck and engine. Basically just the air to air, radiator, clutch fan, AC compressor and fan. Most of the damage was to the body. But hell those bears know and we know where they are long before we see them. So if you see a big truck doing the speed limit precisely then watch out.

Usually they are going at least ten over legal auto speed and it's a very rare occasion that they will lock them up.
