That wig I got from my friend doesn't look right on me at all. I didn't think it would. I don't do bangs.

If the short hair doesn't work out for me, then this is what I want.

I have seen women with short hair who are automatically deemed butch or lesbians but I've seen short haircuts that look very feminine, depending on how they style it. Same with men and long hair. It's deemed "feminine" for men to have long hair but I've seen plenty of metal heads (such as Edge ) who sport long hair and in Edge's case, being genderfluid, can present as feminine, masculine or both. The whole short hair = masculine, long hair = feminine is society's way of confining styles to a particular box. Don't fall for their trap. Fuck 'em and fuck their rules. There's no reason why you can't have long hair and still be as butch, if not more than the next person. Your identity is not measured by the haircut you have. Don't let your hair define you. Let your personality, who you are define who you are. You don't have to pick between short and long. Why not have both? Here is a pic of my friend, she has asymmetrical haircut, shaved short at the back and long fringe on the side. It's very flexible to play with in terms of styling, can curl, spike or straighten, the sky's your limit!

Still, your face with long hair framing it? Maybe a one length bob? It would still be short for woman standards and fairly easy to take care of. Except I'm not uber femme, so that really doesn't work for me. Me neither right now. But I'm sort of thinking really hard about going a little shorter like maybe just below shoulder length or shoulder length. Not a bob especially with curly hair but when I sleep it is really starting to get in the way and gets pulled and wakes me up. Not to mention I have to sleep with a fan on because of tinnitus and playing a little too loud and a little too close to the amps and dead quiet bugs the piss out of me. The fan always blows it in my face and tickles. If I try sleeping with a ponytail then it seems to tangle too much. Try the wig though. The upside is that you can have all different lengths and styles. One day shorter and the next longer without having to wait for it to grow. Summertime may suck, it sucks enough with my own long hair and wearing a wig may just make if feel hotter.

It's very flexible to play with in terms of styling, can curl, spike or straighten, the sky's your limit! Kind of funny that long hair on men is unnacceptable in a corporate society. With me, it's the way I wear it. Parted straight down the middle and hanging loose or a low ponytail and that is masculine. Wearing it parted on the side, a little more volume and or wearing a higher pony then it deems me a little more feminine. I think that unless you are an artist, lawyer, doctor or a couple of other careers that guys with long hair are seen more as nonconformists. That isn't good in the business world where a person has to be a "team player" and on board with everyone and quietly does what higher up say without any pushback. More of society's bullshit. But it's really funny that everyone adores The Rebel but very few have the guts to be. I like your friend's hair though. BTW those guys with long hair seem to draw more attention from women than the guys with short hair, I've always been one of them, and the other guys will always strike out. It is the air of a badboy and adventure and fun to a lot of women. Hell I'm one of those too. Hell give me a guy with long hair, tats and one hell of an attitude that won't take shit from me and in Femme Mode, I'll pick them evertime over a guy in a suit and conforming to the societal norms even if they are rich.

If the short hair doesn't work out for me, then this is what I want. Pretty close to the length of mine, maybe a couple inches longer. The color isn't the same, mine is streaked from grey to blond to dark brown, with red highlights. It's time to get rid of the grey again. I've had grey hair steadily getting to more and more for thirty years... Because I always have it tied back, it stays fairly straight on the top and waves and curls a little more on the bottom than the pic. I like the color of it in the pic, it'd be fun to have it just like that, but even getting rid of the grey is maintenance enough. It'd be nice to see different lengths of hair on you, the short is fine, and long almost always gives a lot of room to play around with styles. But I think somewhere around shoulder length, a style that frames your face would also look nice. Once hair gets past a couple inches long, it's always a nuisance to deal with most days, until it's long enough to just tie it back and go. I've been seriously thinking about cutting it all off to just a couple inches and leaving it that way, I have to mess with the grey anyways, so a haircut every month or so wouldn't add much hassle. Just let it start to curl again and let it do what it's going to do, I went with my hair like that for a long time after the first time I cut it all off from waist length. It seemed like it took forever to grow back out again, but it also feels like it's time to change it up and cut it short. Maybe let the grey grow out and then let it grow again, it is and most likely will stay a true salt and pepper kinda grey.
