I'm a dragon, I believe in myself. Though I also honour Gaia thanks to a rather profound experience when I was younger.

I am a humanist and see no compelling reason to posit gods, deities, spirituality and the supernatural in our efforts to apply morality, love and understanding to our place in the universe. We are literally star stuff, as Carl Sagan explained, and our very molecular structure is timeless and will be recycled. New information and discoveries happen every day that can challenge our former assumptions about what we know. Being free to consider the contributions of all people for the common good respects rather than divides us. Humanism recognizes people within circles where tight lines are drawn segregating us and we, in turn, draw a bigger circle that includes us all as simply human. Diversity of beliefs adds to our strength and capacity to sustain and care for one another. TJ My head says that you are right. But my heart yearns for more than this. I don't know whether this is why spiritual beliefs, religion, mythology etc exists but they do seem to add a dimension, a context and a construct that is compelling and appears to address a fundamental need which exists but doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense to my rational mind. Sometimes however, particularly during meditation, or when I sense a deep and authentic connection with another person, I can't help thinking that science still can't explain this and I feel the need to invoke spirit, universal consciousness and spiritual journeys. I wish that I knew the answer, and I could focus on this truth. Of course as a non binary I really should know better. For I know that there are many truths, and that our life purpose is to seek, accept and to express these truths as kindly and as authentically as we are able. Safe travels Aisla

Safe travels Aisla Thank you Aisla, We sure don't know it all and there are realms beyond or understanding, comprehension and even our vivid imagination. Yet, in my opinion, there is nothing supernatural that is not the creation of a human mind. In the creation myths spirits, great forces or gods created us. As far as I can tell we created the spirits, great forces and gods to fill in the gaps of understanding and there is just no evidence they exist without us. And still, anything is possible right? Our dear friend Julie left a book here for me to read and it is a fun romp featuring a man named Greg in a coma who has multiple adventures, including time travel, with the entity that represents 95.3% of his thinking capacity. Together with a cat they watch over his girlfriend and discuss the multiverse and quantum physics. It is a fun book and reminds me that there really are endless possibilities. But what do we depend on or have confidence in? Some will talk about faith too. For me and most of the world the reality is we depend on efficacious science. If we are traveling in a car or to the moon we want to be certain the engineering, calculus, physics and rocket science is dependable. When we are seriously ill or broken we depend on medical science for cures or treatment. Science is dependable because of the scientific method that states we have a hypothesis that can be rigorously tested and proven not just once but reliably over and over again. Religion is not subject to a testable hypothesis and in the dustbin of history are numerous religions. What has Zeus done for us lately? Is Scientology science or sci fi? I appreciate that their are smarter people than I who have very different views and have contributed substantially to the arts, literature and yes sciences. I feel there is more that we don't know that the amount we do know. I feel connections to people, ideas and the natural world that are beyond my ability to describe or fully "know." And then I am happy to await new answers and new information and be open minded about the possibilities. At one time in my life i followed the religion and government of my birth to a foreign country where I would save people from communism, bring peace and maybe become a manly hero. It was and remains untrue. Now before i follow anyone the big claims will require commensurably big proofs. I am not any smarter or better connected to the cosmos, gods or spirits than anyone else and remain skeptical of the claims for something more. In one sense I now feel more free to challenge myself about it all but recognize that much of the guilt and shame about my identity and sexuality came from some dubious sources. My days and nights as an adult have been untroubled by the supposedly supernatural and vengeful gods of my youth. Thank goodness;-)

I am now a Christian.
I have always believed in life after death, and always believed that there were other lives and other levels of existence than those we currently know and understand. When I was younger I did not believe in God, but now I do. As I learn more about the Lord, I am learning more about miracles as well.

Folk may have a hard time with what comes next. I was trained and have that gift, both out of body and third eye. Once you can see the unseen and are spiritually open and aware, it can get rough. Scary or wonderful. Both out there, both real.
Be careful, it can be a curse or blessing. A curse near the dark spirits, a blessing in the higher planes.
Be careful. Jesus has all of me. I need all he gives. Blessings Satinjoy I am a Christian: an indepdendent fundamental King James Only baptist to be more specific. I believe in a triune God, and I believe there is an afterlife, and I believe spirits are real. On account of the bolded, Satin I completely agree. As a formal occultist, and now-Pentecostal Christian, I know that you know this all too well. I believe spirits are real and I have seen them.....dark spirits, and it definately is rough. I went through this within the last year and told no one. However, when I went to church (charasmatic) one of the following Sundays, I went to the alter for unrelated reasons, but the pastor prophecied and actually confirmed that I was actually seeing dark spirits, more in particular, appeared as "flashes of light", which was amazing, because I didn't tell a soul, yet she described what I saw exactly, so that just goes to say that I agree with you in being careful.

I believe in Justice (not the justice of people, but greater Justice of Universe). I believe that we should do unto others what they have done to us. I believe that sometimes acting is better than staying passive, but it takes a fair share of wisdom (and lots and lots of bruises) to distinguish between these two. I believe that sometimes we need to do what needs to be done and then let the fate to resolve it all. I believe in fate and reincarnation. I believe that we all have certain purpose in greater scheme of events, but sometimes this purpose is very very tiny (not everybody gets to be the Chosen One, sorry). I believe that all people are born good, but then other people tend to spoil some of them. And I do believe that Love, Mercy and Compassion are the greatest values of humanity, but sometimes they wont get You out of sticky situation and having a clear mind, strong arm and sharp sword is nice too.

You are all such thoughtful people that it makes my heart soar. There are no right or wrong answers at a personal level. Where I have a problem with theology, any theology, is when there gets to be a body count attached to belief. This is the time when faith becomes bigotry, and religion becomes immoral. Sadly, it is more the rule over history than the exception. Julie That is not really a problem with any theology though that is about love and compassion and the search for enlightenment and so on. The body count is usually triggered by the human ego and how vain these people are in their theology. It's really a paradox in that if everyone thinks they are right and devine and everyone else is evil, then Heaven must be a lonely lonely place. I agree with you 100%, it is all personal and what one person needs another may not.

Summarized, I believe in the "One". We're all connected, and on the deepest level, we are all the same. That Self we share is the Source. I follow Sikhism to the best of my ability and it's somewhat similar to the above beliefs of Mina. Everyone and everything has the truth/light of God (Waheguru) in them, some are just not connected with the light. Everyone has the ability to connect though by very simply means: simran, or constantly remembering God's presence, will bring you into a connection and relationship. Simran is mostly done daily in meditation and song, then you try to bring it into all your thoughts. www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4PbvpbtrEUWaheguru is genderless, and therefore everyone's souls are also genderless -- the religion believes gender is socially constructed and/or influenced by our physical bodies, genes and hormones. (That though does not in anyway negate someone's experiences of relating to one gender over another here on Earth). There's complete equality for all the sexes. The founders were aware of trans* people and met trans woman, but never spoke out against it. Overall though, you're not supposed to alter your body in anyway except for medical conditions, so medically transitioning from one sex to another, or something in between, would be acceptable if your gender dysphoria is caused by a medical condition and that's the best way to treat it for you. I think causes of gender dysphoria vary depending on the person, I am not convinced that I have a medial condition, since my perception of self, dysphoria, and gender keeps evolving the more I learn about gender issues.

A special prayer for trans.
Most generous God, thank You for my bigendered nature. I thank You for the in and the out, for the over and the under, For the active and the passive: for the experience of both sides.
Most colorful God – I thank You for puce and for spruce, For scarlet and for violet; For burgundy, carmine, carnelian, coral, crimson, fuchsia, magenta, Maroon, pink, persimmon, rose, ruby, scarlet, vermillion – And for red, God, for just plain red, For all the colors I lacked permission to wear.
You laid out the route for me to follow, most wise and loving God, step by step. You cleared the rocks and boulders from my path, You brought me back to Your fold. You lovingly guided me To and through my discoveries, and my journey to be the person you made me to be.
For that I love you, God; I choose to abide in Your love; I choose to do Your will. I choose to trust that this path I follow Is in the direction You have chosen for me.
Some of my sisters and brothers, Oh my God, Paid dearly to follow this path. Only You, most intimate God, Know their personal joys and private sorrows. Comfort them, my God, and strengthen them. Confirm in each heart that You made them, That You know them, that You love them Across all eternity from the profundity of Your Godness.
Amen
