I'm absolutely fucking livid, and irate right now!! Literally, that's all they do is slaughter us!! It's worse enough we lose Trans women of color on a daily basis, but now someone came into OUR SAFE SPACE, and fucking massacred us!!! ENOUGH IS FUUCKING ENOUGH!!! When will everyone be celebrated for their differences instead of splattered??!!??Valerie. I know you are young. You were probably just really really young when they attacked NYC and brought down the WTC. What maybe 6 or 7? You are feeling the same anger I think everyone here in the states felt on Sept 11, 2001. Hold on to it and don't forget it because when we forget it then we forget the actions that was caused by that anger and hate. This isn't near as bad as 911 in the way of body count but it is just as bad because it is a hate against freedom and liberty. Not to sound like a patriot or anything but we are free to be LGBT and yes we may face criticism, persecution, crimes against us but everyone faces that. A redneck goes to Jersey City NJ and they will be targeted possibly. A yankee goes to the south then they will be targeted possibly. What gets me is that 15 or so years after the twin towers fell that we still have terrorists attacking us on our own soil whether it be the US or anywhere else in the world. As a matter of fact I believe they did not just attack the US or NYC but the whole world. The World Trade Center? Like I said earlier in my long ass post. It isn't just against the LGBT community, it is against our whole way of life when you are free to be who you wanna' be. I think we were yesterday. Or actually we were confirming and celebrating our commonalities yesterday LGBT or straight and cis. We were all human yesterday and will be until it fades from memory. Yesterday was an atrocity against freedom by a group that hates the very foundations of which freedom is built upon. Just remember who hates us and who would kill us for nothing more than being ourselves. Be angry. Just don't let it consume you though and lose that shining light within you. Be tankful because yesterday a lot of people stood with us and we were all human regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, color and so on. Be proud because if you ain't pissing haters off then you are just playing "follow the leader". Turn that anger into resolve then dear, go change the fucking world or at least your little part of it anyway and make it better.

I've been reluctant to comment, for the risk of throwing even more fuel on the fire.
I think it's extremely important that we don't attempt to place any sort of blame on any one individual group of people. It's a societal issue, not a demographic one. No matter who pulled the trigger, countless others condone the action (or worse). Some aren't even so very silent about it.
Don't fall into the same judgemental trap they did! Any agent of change needs be orders of magnitude above the desired change, lest it fall on closed ears, minds, and hearts.

See, now Jamie, I have to agree mostly with what you had to say, except for a things like when you said Muslims who come and embrace American culture because it's more of the other way around, they have to assimilate into our culture otherwise they'll face discrimination, hatred, and racism from ignorant. Americans. Assimilation is more of adapting and for survival or otherwise have to face discrimination. And I honestly didn't follow any national or mainstream media because all media is bias especially mainstream media. I was watching and following everything on tumblr, which to say is not the best because there's tons who don't really source check on there, but I'll trust tumblr posts after source checking waaaayyy more than any mainstream media. Also, in my opinion it is important to keep the news to say it was a gay club, and the massacre was based off homophobia/transphobia. When news and the media erases the identities of those we lost is even worse!! DO NOT ERASE THE IDENTITIES OF THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES. The LGBTQIA+ community is already erased from history, buried, misidentified, or just not even spoken about. Let's not let that happen to this! Plus, the reason why we shouldn't let the media erases our identities and turning it more into islamphobia and about terrorism is because no one wants to admit that they share and have homophobic identities with the shooter! They don't want to admit and acknowledge that they share a characteristic with the shooter! And honestly the fact that all these hypocritical homophobes who vote against LGBT discrimination protection laws, and speak hatred towards us, going around saying "pray for Orlando" "the loss of lives is horrible" shut the fuck up!! You don't care about us!! You don't care about fighting for our equal rights when we're alive! Don't give us your fake sympathy! Plus, let's not forget that it was also Latinx night and had a black Trans headlining at the club that night. We've lost lives of people of color! We must not let their identities be erased!! Also, I don't what you're talking about, but I've seen so much praise, joy, and people saying we got what we deserved from the Christian side! They are reveling in our deaths and blaming is for it! Just ask Trinity, the amount of hate she had to endure from those who supposedly share the same faith as her, are clearly saying they'd rather see her dead!! Our Trinity! Hell no!! A world without a beautiful soul like Trinity, would be dearly missed! I honestly couldn't imagine it! I hope it's okay with you Trinity, that I'm talking about you like this. I just dearly know you must be going through so much pain of having to endure so much hatred from those who claim to be Christian. Also how come the good Christians aren't speaking up in support of us?? They're silence only gives oppressors more power! Remaining silent or neutral on any social injustice automatically puts you on the side of the oppressors. Silence doesn't help fight! This still extremely angers me! All this!! Please, we need to protect our LGBTQIA+ family, and we definitely need to protect our Muslim lgbtqia+ family in this time where they'll be facing tons of unjust hatred and discrimination as backlash from this incident. The media is going to try and pin two weak communities the Muslim and LGBT community against each other, and we can't let that happen! Instead we need to unify! There are always gonna' be people that hate us. There will always be people that hate whites or blacks or fat or skinny or yellow or red or whatever else. Because they keep mentioning that it was a gay nightclup is not a bad thing. It lets people see that we are people too and brings up the subject of how a lot of times we are targeted. You are so young and a lot of times people say shit they don't really mean and when it does happen then they have a soul searching moment. This may be one of those events. But regardless in any religion you are gonna' have extremists that twist and pervert the ideology and theology of the written texts to suit their own twisted ideals. They are the exception and not the rule. You have to remember that talk and other shit is normally just that. Talk. I drive for a living and have been in the worst cities for traffic in the lower 48. Houston, Dallas, LA, NYC, Chicago, New Orleans, San Francisco and the list goes on. You know how many times I said out loud even that I would like to grab my winch bar and beat the hell out of the person that just cut me off? More than you can count. If I ever saw anyone try to beat the hell out of a person that cut them off, I would get out and protect the person being attacked the best I could. Talk is cheap and it is a good way to quell and squash anger. Yelling, cursing and saying shit you really don't mean. It is a way to cope but actions speak louder than words. People can say they hate us and they may not like us or our lifestyles or anything else about us but 99% of the time they are not gonna' hurt us or let alone kill us. Then you have that 1% that we really need to be aware of. Because they really want to do some damage. They are the truly insane ones.

Valerie. I never said they needed to assimilate. But anyone that comes to the US has to embrace everything the US stands for. Keeping your heritage and culture alive is all good and well. Hell the country was founded on religious freedom. But not killing and torturing in the name of God though. Sharia law should never ever in any case trump the constitution and that secures the right of life and the pursuit of happiness regardless of anyone else's beliefs. So a father that kills his daughter because she is embracing the American Dream and her own liberty and pursuit of happiness even with someone that he may not agree with should face the consequences of the justice system and that is either prison time or capitol punishment.
I have no problem with immigration. We all came from somewhere else because this country was a shining beacon of liberty and freedom. Why come to the US if you are not going to embrace the ideals of the founding of this culture? You can have your own individual culture but you can't enforce the same laws you left to where you go. That would be like me immigrating to North Korea and still keeping with my US ideals without assimilating to a communist country. Doesn't make much sense does it? Even if I would have stayed or moved to South Korea I would have to understand that unless I married a Korean National that I could not own property or real estate or even a business unless I was a world wide corporation.
You can be Islamic and live in the US and embrace the American culture. Muhammad Ali, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Malcolm X and many others have been Muslim and American and followed the laws of the constitution. I mean what if Alia Ali married a non Muslim would the "Greatest" have killed his own daughter? I don't think so. He had the freedom to practice his religion which happened to be Islam but realized his daughter has the same rights. RIP Muhammad Ali.
Murder is murder. Killing is never OK unless it is in self defense. So If Muslims want to come to the US, I am all for it. The more the merrier. But I will still drink. I will still be trans. I will still love who I want to love regardless of religion, gender, sexual orientation or anything else as long as they love me back. I will not live under sharia law. If I wanted to then I would immigrate and assimilate into the Middle Eastern culture that practices those ideals.
Ya' get what I'm sayin'? You can keep your culture alive but you have to follow the laws of the country you live in. In Korea even in the military, off post we were subject to Korean Laws. They cut us some slack with driving and speeding but having an accident then you were subject to their traffic laws.

We have been in this neighborhood 40 years. Its mixed spanish, hindu indian, muslim indian, and a little north, russian jewish.
We all get along just fine.
This is NY, one of the toughest places in America.
Its also one of the most free, and has the toughest transgender antidiscrimination laws in the country. But its still very dangerous.
But these nuts doing this hate stuff?
These assholes in Christian pulpits celebrating the deaths?
Satanic cores. And i will defend myself on street, and if the rage takes over, it will be lethal self defense.

Yours too. Facebook trinity satin joy. I have no tv we are still in the move. I love the apt and the neighborhood. Everyones been herd for decades. Sighs. Male andro stealth. And eyes that tell them not to even think about fucking with me. I got mine. Got a little .25 that is just perfect for the purse. I also have a 1911 .45 Colt and quite a few others. Just bought a replica model '73 Winchester and SAA Colt both in .44 caliber. I just love the antique looking firearms even if they are brand new. Plus they are fun to shoot. The thing about a CCW permit though is don't drink while armed. Chances are they won't allow it in a bar or other places but most won't pat you down though. Never pull the weapon or even show it unless your life is in real danger. If ever confronted by police the first thing you tell them before your name even is you have a weapon and where it is at. Let them get it and hang on to it. They will give it back with a CCW. But if you don't tell them first thing then they will assume you are hiding something even with a CCW but they will go into all that going through the class and in NYC I assume it may be hard to get one. It took me less than a week. But I live in a state that you can be packing heat in the glove box of your vehicle and any firearm be loaded while transporting as long as it isn't concealed on you body. You can even wear a firearm on your side for protection as long as it is visible. Businesses may not allow you in but it is legal. The two guns I just bought I brought home the same day. God I love this State. I bought them strictly for fun and skills. And OMG the only masculine luxury that I can enjoy but not really because a lot of women are into Cowboy Action Shooting too. But the feel of these two guns and balance compared to modern weapons is ridiculous. The older guns have it in the bag. Kind of like my bf. He muzzle load hunts and I have a .50 caliber Hawken with all the wood and brass that my step dad gave me a long time ago. My BF has an inline with all the plastic stock and bolt action to put the percussion cap and all. Way too barrel heavy. We went to the range and we shot both. He liked mine better. But the new inline looks cooler though. He even asked me if He could use mine to hunt this year. Of course I said OK but told him to clean it when he got back. Mamma cain't have no dirty guns. But a CCW in NYC may be hard to get. Don't you even have to have a permit to even buy a gun there? 3 day wait or more at least. But seriously though this is something we should all think about just for our own self defense. Because it isn't guns that kill people. The gun is nothing more than a tool and I use them on my own property for poisonous snakes and the occasional Black Bear passing through that may want to hunt me down. A couple of shots into the ground usually scares them away. It has happened before. But no gun ever just goes off and murders anyone without someone pulling the trigger. Guns don't walk into a nightclub and start firing randomly people do though.

Who are the "assholes in the Christian pulpits celebrating the deaths?" I have not heard anything about it. Is it on Social Media by some narrow minded idiots? Don't lose your Faith Trinity. Faith is a special thing and no religion owns Christ or God. God and Christ are a part of us not organized religions. Those Christians that are celebrating death are not Satanic. They are worst. They are darker and even way more hateful. They are real "fools" and neither heaven nor hell has the patience for fools. Just hang in there hon. This is not a matter of Faith but a matter of people and how they react to it and feel about it. There is no Great Satan. Hell I have even been Satanic and there was nothing about hate. Revenge yeah but hate no. True Satanism is about the joy of life and the reverence of a physical life and when someone spits in your face instead of turning the other cheek, spit in theirs in revenge. But not hate. This hateful muther fucker was a fool and right now at this moment he is probably experiencing his 72 virgins and to his regret those virgins will stay virgins for eternity. Sounds more like hell to me. Just calm down. We have all been through this before and just pray for those that innocently lost their lives, that will lose their lives, the families of those victims, the heroes that saved more that could have been casualties and so on and be thankful that no more were killed. Bad things happen to good people. This is a fact of life and if you believe in the Bible a consequence of the Original Sin. You have to have Faith and faith. Faith with a big "F" in your beliefs and faith that people are generally good at the root level. Those that hate will always hate and I feel really sorry for them because they will never know true friendship or true love. Because at the root level they probably just hate themselves. It would not surprise me if this shooter had gay relations before.

First of all I'd like to apologize for coming off strongly, or like I was attacking you Jamie, because I didn't mean to! I just get extremely passionate, and fired up when it comes to social issues, and social injustice. Especially, with this hitting home so extremely hard!!
I'm just so angry, hurt, and afraid! And I just really worry about the media turning this whole situation into being about Isis / gun control, and just completely erasing the fact that the LGBT community was attacked during pride month directly at a gay nightclub which is suppose to be a safe space! I worry the media will forget the victims and their names, and just focus on the shooter. And that's not what's right! The victims need to be remembered, and their identities need to be remembered! We can't let them bury/erase us again.
And I worry that this'll spark others to attack at other Prides! I mean hell they already arrested a man yesterday heading to LA Pride with guns.
I fear for the lives of everyone in LGBTQIA community, especially those who are Muslim who are going to unjustly get s backlash from this attack.
I worry about our LGBT youth who were once excited about going to their first pride, and now will be scared and anxious. I fear this will strike fear, and going back into hiding who we are in order to survive!!
I fear and worry about my little brother, if he's even heard? How's this affecting him? Is he scared to be himself? Will he be fearful of going to Prides? He's only 13 he shouldn't have to fear being killed just because of who he is.
And honestly I'm scared, I'm so fucking scared!! What if this sparks others to act, and kill us?? What if I get attacked or killed out there on streets?
And honestly after this I seriously think they need to start working on stricter gun control laws. I already do not like guns as is, and I just want nothing to do with them. I mean we're already going down hill the fact that after Sandy Hook, America didn't make stricter gun laws. They decided that gun protections were more important than innocent lives of children! And honestly I'd never want to touch or own a gun. I'd rather be killed than over be in a situation of taking someone else's life, no matter if it's mine or theirs. I could never live with guilt of taking a life. But also I could also never have a gun because i honestly wouldn't have anything to stop me from killing myself if I had a gun. Especially if I were in my more depressive states I just know I'd take a gun blow my brains out, without nothing stopping me.
I'm just scared, and I hate that I have to fear for my life just because of who I am, and who I love.

I'm just scared, and I hate that I have to fear for my life just because of who I am, and who I love. You know what? If you let them scare you then they win. Look up the definition of terror. This nation has been through this before. Many nations have been through this before. Chances are we will be going through it again. Don't be scared. BTW hon. It ain't the guns. It is the psychos that pull the triggers. You cannot blame an inanimate object for murder. You can only blae the person that commits the hienous act. If it is not a gun it will be a bomb. If not a bomb a knife. If not a knife a vehicle. Do not fall into the trap that guns kill. It is the person that uses the gun to kill and in one hand a gun may murder people and in someone else's it may save people. 50 died senslessly but 30 were saved because the mad man was taken out by armed cops that are not psycho murderers. If the cops would have had nothing but tasers and nightsticks they too would have been killed along with the hostages. So guns can save lives as much as take them away. Like I said earlier 2 times being investigated by the FBI and not being on any watch list is rediculous. I was investigated by the FBI going through the processes of becoming a cop and they scrutinized all my friends and even people I went to highschool with so this coward being investigated by the FBI, I don't believe they fully investigated like they did me. And I was going to be a fucking cop. One of the good guys even that is supposed to protect and serve. I went through psyche exams and everything and then backed out because 50,000 a year driving a truck or 25,000 a year putting my life on the line? What would anyone else do? Mo money for sure and I have to do whatever I have to do for the future. Still got friends and family that are cops some of my friends are from the shit we all went through for the processing through. Glad I made the choice nowdays when it seems that blue lives don't matter. They have one hell of a hard job and put themselves on the line for us everyday and yes there are LGBTs in their ranks and even as T and full on out having my licesne checked and all have been treated with nothing but respect by our men and women and LGBT brothers and sisters in blue. I have always been asked in those compromising times when pulled over for some traffic infraction what I preffered to be called, Ma'am or Sir. Usually during a DOT inspection and a few times for speeding but they took pity on me. We really are everywhere whether out or not. Take it from me though, when it comes to taking someone else's life or letting them take mine, I will do whatever for self preservation. Of course I was in the military and was of the mind frame if ever in a situation I would kill before being killed and die before being taken prisoner. When your life your family's or someone you love's life is at stake at the hand of a psycho you will rethink the whole idea about taking someone else's life. No it ain't pretty and no you won't feel like a hero and yeah it is something you will have to live with the rest of your life but self preservation and protecting your loved ones is first and foremost. Do not give into the fear though. We all die sometime, it is just a matter of when. If you are scared then the ones that terrorize win. Turn that fear into strength. Turn that hate into resolve. Then use those virtues to change our little part of the world and reassure your loved ones that it will be OK. BTW Valerie no need for apologies. During 911 I assume I felt like people did during Pearl Harbor and the start of the US entering WW2. I assume you are feeling like I did during 911. Anger. Fear. Uncertainty or what will happen next. Hell am I gonna' be next? But you cannot live your life in fear. You have to live your life to the fullest. If I would have been visiting Orlando I may very well have been in Pulse. But I wasn't. You weren't. Your brother wasn't so just be thankful for what you have now. I may get in my vehicle tonight and go check on one of my trucks and get killed in a traffic accident. Either way I would be dead and I will be eventually anyway. Just remember and look up the five stages of grief. It seems like during this thread you displayed two of the five at least. Its norma hon. Shit like this happens in the world. It ain't God or Allah. It ain't Satan. It isn't anything but people being ignorant, self righteous, hatefullness, twisted ideologies, etc. and that will never change in the near future or maybe even ever. Live your life and live it to the fullest. You are still here and the worst thing that we can do is let the ones that want to strike fear in our hearts, make us afraid to live. This is the internet and you can bet your ass that this sight along with others have been visited by more than one hater. Just check out the users on line. Most of the time it is just me and 3 to 7 guests. I jsut wonder who some of those guests are. 99.9 percent just like us or curious or questioning. But that 0.1 percent though? Who knows? Who really cares? If they want it come and get it. But being a redneck "girl". Bring your lunch and maybe supper too because it ain't gonna' be easy. Be strong Valerie. Jamie.

History pivots on moments in time. This is one of them. As bad as it is, it brings the conversation to the front. There are more good people willing to speak out now than before. It's a deciding factor that history is going to pivot on. The conversation over LGBT rights needs to continue and it will. The conversation over stricter gun laws needs to continue. The conversation of what this country really stands for needs to continue. As bad as it is, history will pivot in this moment in time. But beware of the extremists, they are going to react as well. Let them play out their beliefs, so the good people know who they are. More good than bad will eventually come out of this. This is this century's 'Stonewall'... The new rally point in time, in history.

I cant look at the thread right now i am to close to the edge on rage. I will say though that i am seriously thinking of getting a concealed carry permit. Not that seriously, but if and when i calm down, maybe. I live in a half muslim neighborhood. Those are the ones that stop on the street and stare at me. Same with the hindus. But God has my back. I have a 410 shotgun by the bed.

I got a 12 gauge loaded with 00 buckshot. Shotguns are really good for home protection because in the middle of the night in the dark it is not a precise weapon and really good close up. A lot of times a shotgun will deter the most hardcore burglar or murderer or just average rapists or serial killer. Its hard to miss at close range with a shotgun even if you are unfamiliar with firearms.
I mean I live in a rural area and it may take deputies 10 or more minutes to get to my home. Plus making the 911 call while someone is already in or trying to get in. Not to mention poisonous snakes that I would rather not kill but take elsewhere but if it is me or a snake then the snake loses. The occasional wandering black bear that comes through. Many things I need them for.
