A sweet gal from UK, was a member on the other site. Aww thanks Shan. I had to come and see how you were doing :-) x That's my gal, I'm so glad you kept the link I sent and finally showed up. I had been thinking of you and was considering sending an email but didn't want to come across as a pest as I know you have your own busy life. I know that you recognize that there's an entirely different atmosphere here then there was at the other place warm, friendly and inviting where people genuinely care for one another and actually respond to each others commentaries. When you get a chance you can pm me about anything personal you'd like to discuss, but tbh there is not much that you can't say here and feel perfectly safe. xoxo ~Auntie Shan~

I am still struggling on that front. :-/ They are still saying that they don't trust me, and that I am making all this up. I transitioned about 2 years ago now. None of them would have me over for xmas, so I worked, rather than be by myself. I was actually surprised though. Its funny, I sat afterwards, after a killer really really busy shift, with the staff having a drink, and I was nearly brought to tears by the thought of how much I regard them as family now. Its a shame that people leave after about 8-12 months though. Most the people I started with are leaving soon. I am going to miss them. Its weird having a place where nobody knows about me. Stealth is a strange and lovely thing sometimes. I get lots of guys giving me their numbers lol.

Sometimes we can make friends become our family and go on. So sorry you suffer like that honey, but on the bright side you seem to have a lot of attention from the fellows which tells me that you are quite successfully enjoying a stealth life as the woman you are and rightly so as you present so very beautifully. Your family will eventually turn the corner with their shitty attitude but don't hold your breath as it will take some while, meanwhile go on and live your life to the fullest.

welcome kira! a little bit late, but i spent xmas with family. had no time for forums...
just thought i should mention that you don't even have to be trans to be hated by family. there's nothing wrong with you, they're just willfully being idiots about it. it's not very different from how my dad wanted his kids to become engineers, while my mom wanted us to become musicians. my own choice never counted when i was younger, becuse parents know me best. right...?

And here's an even later welcome.
And yes, family of origin can be very unaccepting but having family of choice can be a huge gift.
